Day 1 – Friday, September 25, 2026 – Home (overnight flight) to Edinburgh

Fly away to the land of bagpipes, haggis, and whisky, with a unique mythical national animal: not the Loch Ness Monster, but a chained unicorn, a symbol of power and legend.

    Day 2 – Saturday, September 26, 2026 – Edinburgh

Arrive in Edinburgh with architectural splendour, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the capital city of Scotland and the birthplace of telephone inventor Alexander Graham Bell, who moved to Canada in 1870. Transfer to your hotel and relax before joining your fellow travellers and Tour Director for a traditional Scottish Gaelic toast—Slàinte mhath (cheers)—and Scottish fare.

    Today’s dinner is included

    Day 3 – Sunday, September 27, 2026 – Edinburgh

We begin the day after breakfast, meeting a passionate local guide who brings the rich history and resilient spirit of Edinburgh to life as we explore its storied streets. We’ll take in the iconic Edinburgh Castle, dramatically perched atop an extinct volcano and recognized as one of the oldest fortified places in Europe and the most besieged site in Britain, before strolling along the historic Royal Mile, where the energy of the Old Town feels wonderfully unchanged by time. Step inside St Giles' Cathedral to admire its stunning architecture and layered history, then wander through Greyfriars Kirkyard—yes, including the famously curious “parking lot 23”—to uncover the stories etched into its stones. We’ll also view the magnificent Palace of Holyroodhouse, the King’s official residence in Scotland, founded as a monastery in 1128, and visit The Writers' Museum to pay tribute to literary legends Robert Burns, Sir Walter Scott, and Robert Louis Stevenson. This evening, enjoy time at leisure to shop, sip, and sup—perhaps sampling Scotland’s beloved Walker's Shortbread (holder of a Royal Warrant), indulging in traditional cranachan, or warming up with a hearty bowl of Cullen Skink.

    Today’s breakfast is included

    Day 4 – Monday, September 28, 2026 – Edinburgh – (via St Andrews – Dundee) to Aberdeen

Pack up and we’re off to our next destination, Aberdeen—once proudly known as the oil capital of Europe—savouring a scenic journey filled with unforgettable stops along the way. Departing Edinburgh, we pass its own “Golden Gate,” the striking cantilever railway Forth Bridge, a masterpiece of Victorian engineering. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate a pause in St Andrews, the spiritual home of the game, where the legendary Old Course at St Andrews has shaped centuries of golfing tradition. Venturing off the beaten path, we marvel at the remarkable Meikleour Beech Hedge, recognized as the tallest and longest hedge in the world; in autumn, its fiery reds and glowing golds create a truly dazzling display. Arriving in Aberdeen on the edge of the North Sea, admire the city’s sparkling granite architecture that gives rise to its nickname, the “Silver City,” and listen for the distinctive local Scots dialect, Doric, before settling into a historic baronial mansion—your elegant home for the night.

Today’s breakfast and dinner are included

    Day 5 – Tuesday, September 29, 2026 – Aberdeen – Speyside – Inverness

Today, discover Scotland’s national drink and learn the art of distilling, from grain to glass. Then ram onward to a land where sheep outnumber people, visiting the historic Knockando Wool Mill to see traditional wool production and perhaps add an authentic tartan to your collection. Arrive in the capital of the Scottish Highlands, Inverness, with the River Ness flowing through its heart and lined with Victorian red sandstone buildings. This evening, enjoy a convivial dinner with new friends, sharing highlights of your journey and anticipating the adventures still to come.

Today’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included

    Day 6 – Wednesday, September 30, 2026 – Inverness

This morning we visit Culloden Battlefield and reflect on the pivotal 1746 battle, which lasted just 40 minutes between the Jacobite forces of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the government Redcoats, forever shaping the fate of the Highlands. Hear the romantic and daring tale of how Flora MacDonald risked her life to help the defeated prince escape over the sea to the Isle of Skye. We then sail the dark, mysterious waters of Loch Ness, Scotland’s second-deepest loch, famed in folklore as the home of the elusive Nessie—perhaps you’ll be sighting number 1,154. Along the way, admire the dramatic ruins of Urquhart Castle and cruise through the Caledonian Canal. Keep your camera ready for sweeping views of the Great Glen, the stately Aldourie Castle, and the charming Bona Lighthouse before returning to your hotel for a relaxing evening in a city steeped in proud Highland culture.

    Today’s breakfast is included

    Day 7 – Thursday, October 1, 2026 – Inverness – (via Fort Augustus) – Fort William – Oban

Driving south to Fort William this morning, keep watch for shaggy Highland cattle and other four-legged locals grazing in the fields as we journey through classic Highland scenery. Fort William sits in the shadow of Ben Nevis—affectionately known as “Ben”—the tallest mountain in the British Isles. En route, we pause in the charming village of Fort Augustus, beautifully set along a flight of five locks on the Caledonian Canal. Then it’s all aboard for a scenic rail journey from Fort William to Mallaig, covering 41 spectacular miles past shimmering Loch Eil, across the iconic 21-arched Glenfinnan Viaduct, and along the silver sands near Arisaig. We continue onward to the picturesque seaside town of Oban, famed for its horseshoe-shaped bay, spectacular sunsets, and well-earned title as the “Seafood Capital of Scotland.”
