Day 1– Home to Whitehorse
Fly to Whitehorse this afternoon and arrive in the capital of the Yukon, where you’ll be transferred to your downtown hotel.
Day 2 – Whitehorse
This morning, we visit the MacBride Museum to learn about the fascinating history of the area and its people. Then, get ready for an engaging tour of Whitehorse, the Yukon’s cultural hub nestled along the Yukon River. We begin by exploring the downtown core before heading to the SS Klondike – a national historic site – and the scenic Miles Canyon Suspension Bridge. Later, we visit the Beringia Interpretive Centre, a research and exhibition facility that offers insight into the region's fascinating history. This evening, join your Tour Director and fellow travelers for a welcome dinner.

Day 3 – Whitehorse to Dawson City
Today we follow in the footsteps of the prospectors as we travel north along the Klondike Highway. Drive past Lake Laberge, the setting of Sam McGee’s cremation, and the daunting Five Finger Rapids. Late this afternoon, we arrive in the legendary gold rush town of Dawson City and check into our cozy accommodations in the heart of town.

Day 4 – Dawson City
This morning, a local guide will take us on a tour of the area, sharing the legends and historic tales of the town while offering a glimpse into modern life in the North. A short drive brings us to the goldfields of Bonanza Creek, where many staked their fortunes in hopes of striking it rich. See the legendary engineering feat, Dredge #4, and take a drive down Writer’s Row to visit the Robert Service and Jack London cabins. The afternoon is free for you to explore this eclectic community on the Yukon River. After dinner on the town this evening, enjoy lively music and cancan girls at the world-famous Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall, named after the dance hall queen who wedged a sparkling diamond between her two front teeth. Stay for all three shows if you wish to indulge and relive Dawson’s Gold Rush days.

Day 5 – Dawson City to Inuvik
The real adventure begins this morning as we board our Air North flight to the remote community of Inuvik, located on the edge of the Mackenzie River Delta. As we soar over the vast landscape, we cross the Arctic Circle, offering a unique view of the northern wilderness. Below, the scenery is a patchwork of winding rivers and scattered lakes, teeming with wildlife and surrounded by the rugged beauty of the tundra. After landing, we enjoy a short ride to our hotel, where a warm and delicious dinner awaits, setting the stage for the adventures ahead.

Day 6 – Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk and back
This morning, we drive along the Inuvik-Tuktoyaktuk Highway – the only Canadian route to the shores of the Arctic Ocean. Upon arriving in the coastal community of Tuktoyaktuk, a local guide will lead you on a historical and cultural tour. Stop at the beach and take a moment to dip your toe in the Arctic Ocean. Spend some time with a local family while they share their culture and northern life. On the return trip to Inuvik (weather permitting), enjoy a scenic flight over the tree line, scanning the vast, spectacular Mackenzie Delta. The region is home to a unique geographic feature known as Pingos – ice core hills that can only be found in permafrost areas.

Day 7 – Inuvik to Dawson City
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Inuvik, where you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique charm of this northern community. Before we head to the airport for our flight back to Dawson, we'll take a guided tour with a local expert. You’ll learn about Inuvik’s rich history, its Indigenous heritage, and how life thrives in the Arctic’s summer months. Highlights may include the striking Igloo Church and the bustling local markets. After our time in Inuvik, we’ll return to the airport for our flight back to Dawson City. Once we arrive, we’ll explore the famous Midnight Dome, offering stunning panoramic views of the Klondike River and the surrounding wilderness.

Day 8 – Dawson City
Experience the southern and most scenic sections of the famed Dempster Highway today as we travel to Tombstone Territorial Park. In this stunning wilderness, we’ll visit the Park Interpretive Centre and take in several scenic vistas. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to Dawson City. This evening, enjoy another exciting show!

Day 9 – Dawson City to Carmacks
Today, we leave Dawson City behind and head towards the town of Carmacks. Stopping for lunch in the remote and eclectic community of Mayo, you will visit the Binet House Interpretive Centre.
Carmacks, nestled along the banks of the Yukon River, offers a peaceful retreat to end the day.

Day 10 – Carmacks to Destruction Bay
We begin our journey south from Carmacks, following Klondike Highway to the legendary Alaska Highway. Delve into the fascinating world of Yukon's wildlife at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. Spanning 350 acres, this unique facility offers a glimpse into the natural habitats of 12 major species of northern mammals, including moose, muskox, and mountain goat. After lunch the drive continues to awe with stunning views of wild, rugged terrain, and we enter the majestic Kluane National Park. Expect to see rushing rivers, glacial lakes, and towering mountain peaks as we make our way to Destruction Bay, located on the shores of the spectacular Kluane Lake.

Day 11 – Destruction Bay to Whitehorse
Today we explore Kluane National Park, known for its glaciers, marshes, mountains, and sand dunes. This vast, unsettled area is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to Mount Logan – the second-highest peak in North America. Later today, stop at the Haines Junction Visitor Centre before returning to Whitehorse this afternoon.

Day 12 – Whitehorse to Carcross and Yukon Wildlife Preserve
Today, we explore the charming town of Carcross, known for its beautiful surroundings and fascinating history. In the evening, we’ll gather for a special farewell dinner to commemorate our unforgettable adventure through the Yukon and Northwest Territories.

Day 13 – Whitehorse to Home
This morning, we visit a local sled-dog kennel. You’ll have the chance to tour the facilities, meet the dogs, learn about the Yukon lifestyle, and enjoy a locally inspired lunch. Later, we transfer to the airport for our afternoon flight home. Arrive back in BC this afternoon, where a transfer will be waiting to take you home.

Early Booking: A $250 early booking discount is offered off the first 10 seats booked and $100 is offered off the next 10 until Mar 30, 2026.
Deposit and Payment: A $400 deposit per person is required at booking or booking may be cancelled. Full payment is required by Apr 27, 2026
Airfare: Airfare has been included at our preferred group rate. For airfare, space should be reserved by Mar 30, 2026. After that date airfare at this rate may be limited or tour price with air may be higher. Should you wish to book your own flights, price will be reduced by $375.
Price Changes: In the event of significant changes in taxes or surcharges by suppliers or local government Mile Zero Tours reserves the right to increase price up until final payment is made.
Cancellation Policy: Full refund less $50 per person admin fee if cancelled before March 30, 2026, from March 30-April 27, 2026 non-refundable amount increases to $150. After April 27, 2026 only 35% is refundable and after May 31, 2026 only 15% is refundable. There are no refunds offered after June 16, 2026. We strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance as Mile Zero Tours cannot issue refunds, no matter the reason, beyond the scope of the above-mentioned policy.
