New York, New York!

Day 1— Wednesday September 8, 2021 — Home to New York City 

Early this morning depart for New York City. Arriving in the afternoon a transfer will take you to our luxurious centrally located Manhattan hotel. The Millennium Times Square Hotel, home for the next six nights, is just steps away from Times Square in the heart of the theater district. Tonight get to know your Tour Director and fellow travellers over dinner at a popular local restaurant in the heart of the city.

Day 2 — Thursday September 9, 2021 – New York City

This morning after breakfast join a local guide for a fascinating tour of the city. The tour includes Chinatown, Soho, Little Italy, the Greenwich Village, Wall Street district, Chelsea, and Central Park. See many of the city’s famous landmarks such as the United Nations Headquarters and the Chrysler Building while our knowledgeable guide enlightens you on the many stories of this great city. The tour concludes with a visit to Ground Zero and the 9/11 Memorial Museum. This moving experience tells the story of the events of 9/11 through artifacts that range in scale from the monumental to the intimate, while presenting stories of loss, compassion, reckoning and recovery. This evening is free for you to explore the city that never sleeps.

Day 3 — Friday September 10, 2021 – New York City 

Spend the morning exploring New York’s most visited museum—The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Here you will experience the best of human creativity from across the globe. With a collection of nearly two million works of art spanning more than 5,000 years of world culture, from prehistory to the present, the Metropolitan is truly a journey through the world’s greatest art. This afternoon you are free to continue exploring your surroundings.

Day 4 – Saturday September 11, 2021 – New York City

Today join your Tour Director for a leisurely walk to visit another iconic landmark — the Empire State Building. Ride the elevator to the 86th floor observatory. From here enjoy 360-degree open-air views of Manhattan and beyond while you learn more about this icon and its surroundings with a self-guided multimedia tour. Back at ground level, we exit through the spectacular art deco lobby and onto busy Fifth Avenue where a short walk brings us to another New York City icon- The New York Public Library. Take some time to explore this beautiful building and perhaps take a relaxing break to sit down and enjoy a coffee, while you watch the world go by, in adjoining Bryant Park.

Day 5 — Sunday September 12, 2021 – New York City 

Today is free for you to follow your own interests in this vibrant city. Perhaps that will involve a shopping spree at some of the famous stores along Fifth Avenue, or take in some more of New York’s great museums, or a pleasant stroll through Central Park. This evening after dinner you are off to the theatre for a spectacular Broadway Show! The show title will be announced later but you can be sure you’ll be in for a special treat!

Day 6 — Monday September 13, 2021- New York City 

Now that you’ve been here a few days you’ll be feeling like a true New Yorker. This morning we jump on the subway and head for lower Manhattan. Here we will board a cruise to see the statue of Liberty up-close and visit the Ellis Island Immigration Museum. You will be surprised and impressed by how much you will learn and see at these world-renowned sites. Since 1886, “Lady Liberty” has welcomed visitors and immigrants to New York. Some twelve million immigrants from nations all over the world arrived in North America through Ellis Island on a quest to seek a better life for themselves and their families. Learn a few of their stories while exploring the island. Later today return to midtown and visit Rockefeller Centre- home of NBC Studios and the Top of the Rock observatory. We will marvel at the views before returning to street level for a fantastic dinner and celebration of the wonderful memories created over the past week in New York City.

Day 7 – Tuesday September 14, 2021 — New York to Home 

This morning transfer to the airport for our return flights. We will arrive home this evening where a transfer will be waiting to take you home from your exciting experience in the diverse and exciting city of New York!

Walking Note: 

In busy New York City the most efficient means of transport is usually on foot. While this tour does make use of private tour coaches for some portions it should be noted that there is a fair amount of walking involved and guests should be prepared to walk (at a leisurely pace) from 1 to 3 KM each day.
