This morning, set sail from Victoria with BC Ferries, embarking on a journey to the mainland. From there, we'll traverse the scenic Fraser Valley towards Hope, before journeying along the picturesque Crowsnest Highway, which winds through the stunning landscapes of Southern British Columbia. Our day concludes in the delightful town of Osoyoos, an oasis nestled amidst Canada's only living desert. Check into your hotel, beautifully ensconced among lush vineyards, and spend the evening unwinding. Join your Tour Director and fellow travelers for a relaxed and enjoyable welcome dinner.

Day 2: Tuesday, May 13, 2025 – Osoyoos to Nelson
Following breakfast, immerse yourself in the rich cultural tapestry of the region with a visit to the Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre. Here, an enthusiastic guide will share insights into the local ecology, as well as the fascinating history and legends of the First Nations. As we journey towards Nelson, the Queen City of the Kootenays, we'll pause in Grand Forks. This historic town, established in 1870 by seven pioneers on a 9-acre plot, is ripe with captivating stories. Discover the intriguing origins behind its slogan, “famous for sunshine and borscht,” which promises both warmth and culinary delight. After lunch, we'll continue to our lakeside hotel, where you can relax and soak in the serene beauty of the Kootenays. The day culminates with a celebratory dinner, marking our arrival in this enchanting region.

Day 3: Wednesday, May 14, 2025 – Nelson
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before embarking on a picturesque journey aboard the historic Streetcar #23, gliding along Nelson's scenic waterfront. Next, delve into the artistic and historical treasures at the Touchstones Nelson Museum of Art and History, where captivating art and local history come alive. Your exploration continues with a guided tour of Nelson, a town celebrated for its unique blend of Victorian-era architecture and rich heritage sites. As evening falls, the town is yours to discover at your leisure. Wander through its charming streets, and you might find yourself echoing the New York Times' praise of Nelson as “the prettiest small town in Canada.”

Day 4: Thursday, May 15, 2025 - Nelson – Ainsworth
This morning, set off for Kaslo, affectionately known as “the little Switzerland of Canada.” Nestled on the shores of Lake Kootenay, Kaslo is one of British Columbia’s most picturesque villages. Here, you'll discover the SS Moyie, the world's oldest intact passenger sternwheeler, offering a fascinating glimpse into maritime history with an engaging tour of the ship. Later, journey to the quaint village of Ainsworth, the oldest settlement on Kootenay Lake, established in May 1883. Here, indulge in the therapeutic embrace of hot, mineral-rich waters at the renowned hot springs. Choose from a variety of pools, each naturally heated to different temperatures, for a soothing and rejuvenating experience. Ainsworth is celebrated for its unique, horseshoe-shaped underground caves, a legacy of past mining endeavors. En route, we'll make a stop at the idyllic Twin Bays, a rare sand beach nestled in a tranquil community on the eastern shore of Kootenay Lake. Take a moment to stretch your legs on the soft sand and be ready to capture the breathtaking panoramic views with your camera. Upon arrival in Cranbrook, visit the Royal Alexandra Hall, a gem within the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel. Renowned for its elegance, it stands as one of the most sophisticated public venues in southeastern British Columbia. Then, experience Cranbrook through the eyes of a local with an engaging city tour. Breathe in the fresh Rocky Mountain air as you explore this charming city, beautifully situated with the Purcell Mountains to the west and the majestic Rockies to the north and east.

Day 6: Saturday, May 17, 2025 – Cranbrook to Revelstoke
After breakfast, we set off for Revelstoke, a unique destination nestled within one of the world's rarest rainforests and famed as the site of North America's first ski-jump. As we traverse the highway, you're presented with a visual feast: whether you gaze downwards, upwards, or to the sides, spectacular views unfold in every direction, becoming increasingly breathtaking as we journey through the Rocky Mountain Trench. Embrace a sense of adventure by stepping onto the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge, Canada's longest freestanding timber frame bridge. As we continue our journey, we'll pass through the awe-inspiring Rogers Pass, flanked by majestic mountains, and ascend to the Trans-Canada Highway's second-highest point at 1,330 meters. As we approach Revelstoke, keep an eye out for the iconic peak of Mount Begbie, a landmark amidst the heart of British Columbia's Monashee Mountains. Upon arrival, take some time to refresh and unwind before enjoying a delightful dinner with your fellow travelers.

Day 7: Sunday, May 18, 2025 – Revelstoke
Get ready for an exhilarating day full of discoveries, starting at the Revelstoke Railway Museum. Here, delve into the captivating history of the Canadian Pacific Railway, a monumental project that traversed the rugged mountains of Western Canada and played a pivotal role in uniting the young Dominion of Canada. Next on our itinerary is the impressive Revelstoke Dam, a marvel of engineering that stands as one of the most powerful hydroelectric dams on the Columbia River. After marveling at this feat of human ingenuity, we'll take a short drive to the Three Valley Gap Heritage Ghost Town, located at the eastern end of Three Valley Lake. Step back into the late 1800s, a time when gold fever lured thousands to this region, and explore meticulously restored historic buildings that bring the past to life. Leaving Revelstoke behind, we set off towards the renowned wine regions, ready for a delightful tasting experience. En route, we'll take a moment to pause at a significant historical site - Craigellachie. This is where, in 1885, the ceremonial last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, marking a pivotal moment in Canadian history. This event symbolized the end of a challenging journey plagued by natural disasters, financial crises, and rebellion, and it played a crucial role in uniting Canada from coast to coast with its first transcontinental railway. Our journey then leads us to Summerland, which will be our charming base for the next two nights. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely evening at the hotel. Unwind by the pool with a selection of fine wines and cocktails, or perhaps take a serene stroll along the lakefront boardwalk after dinner.

Early Booking: A $250 early booking discount is offered off the first 10 seats booked and $100 is offered off the next 10 until Feb 10, 2025.
Deposit and Payment: A $400 deposit per person is required at booking or booking may be cancelled. Full payment is required by Mar 10, 2025
Price Changes: In the event of significant changes in taxes or surcharges by suppliers or local government Mile Zero Tours reserves the right to increase price up until final payment is made.
Cancellation Policy: Full refund less $50 per person admin fee if cancelled before February 10, 2025, from February 10-March 10, 2025 non-refundable amount increases to $150. After March 10, 2025 only 35% is refundable and after April 12, 2025 only 15% is refundable. There are no refunds offered after April 28, 2025. We strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance as Mile Zero Tours cannot issue refunds, no matter the reason, beyond the scope of the above-mentioned policy.
