Day 1 – Thursday September 2, 2021 Vancouver to Port Hardy
Departing Vancouver this morning we take the ferry to Nanaimo and carry on towards Campbell River. After a lunch stop, we venture into the wilderness of North Vancouver Island arriving later this afternoon in Port Hardy, our home for the night. Connect with your tour director and fellow travellers over a delicious welcome dinner.

Day 2 - Friday September 3, 2021 Port Hardy to Prince Rupert
Early this morning we depart on a spectacular trip with BC Ferries’ Inside Passage day cruise, an adventure itself. Follow the remote Northern Coast and Inside Passage route. Enjoy the ship’s modern amenities and be ready to capture on camera the rugged beauty and stunning scenery around every curve. The journey features isolated coastal villages, untrampled wilderness and wildlife viewing opportunities. A bountiful buffet breakfast and dinner are included as is your own private cabin when you need a little break. We dock late this evening in the northern port city of Prince Rupert. A short transfer brings us to our hotel.

Day 3 - Saturday September 4, 2021 Prince Rupert
This morning, we visit the magnificent Museum of Northern BC as an appropriate introduction to this coast with historical artifacts, carvings and artwork. After lunch learn about the heritage of salmon canning at the longest operating canner in BC history and a premier tourist destination, the North Pacific Cannery. Enjoy a leisurely evening at your own pace.

Day 4 - Sunday September 5, 2021 Prince Rupert to Queen Charlotte City
After breakfast we continue our travels with BC Ferries to the mystical islands of Haida Gwaii, or the “Islands of People.” Our ferry ride today takes about 6 hours and we arrive late afternoon in the village of Skidegate. A short transfer will bring us to our accommodation in the heart of Queen Charlotte City where we will have dinner together.

Day 5 – Monday September 6, 2021
QCC – Ḵ'uuna Llnagaay – Queen Charlotte City
Today we travel in small 12-passenger boats to visit the remote and ancient First Nations Haida village of Ḵ'uuna Llnagaay also known as Skedans (weather permitting). Led by a Haida guide, explore the legends, history and totems of the village on a short walk before joining the group for a picnic lunch. On our return trip we will pass through the Laskeek Bay area and explore the shoreline and seas for rare birds, marine life and even whales. This evening is free in Queen Charlotte City.

Day 6 – Tuesday September 7, 2021 Queen Charlotte City
The morning is free for you to pursue your own interests or take the optional flight and tour to SG̱ang Gwaay, also know as Ninstants, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the best preserved abandoned Haida Village on the islands (see below for details). A special treat tonight as you savor a traditional Haida meal at Keenawaii's Kitchen prepared and hosted in the home of well known Haida chef Roberta Olson who is passionate about local cuisine and culture.

Gwaii Haanas & Ninstants Tour:
This expedition will bring travellers to the most well-preserved ancient villages on Haida Gwaii to experience the rich ecology and history dating back 10,000 years. A seaplane flight will depart from Queen Charlotte City and land at the former whaling station at Rose Harbour. From here, an experienced boat operator will take you on a 20-minute ride to the village site on Anthony Island. Once arrived, a Haida Watchman will guide you through the village remains which still holds original totem poles and the remains of longhouses. This tour truly provides travellers with insight to the Haida connection between history, culture, art and nature.
$750 per person - Requires minimum of 5 and maximum capacity is 10.
* Please be aware, the optional Gwaii Haanas tour involves travel by seaplane, zodiac boat and short walking on uneven terrain. Transferring from plane to boat can be challenging for anyone with mobility limitations. This tour is not recommended for individuals with back problems as sea conditions can sometimes create a bumpy ride.
Day 7 – Wednesday September 8, 2021 Queen Charlotte City to Masset
This morning depart Queen Charlotte City and visit the impressive Haida Heritage Centre displaying aboriginal culture and totem poles at Kay Llnagaay. Later visit the remarkable Balance Rock and St. Mary’s Spring that holds a mythical promise. Indulge in the artisan shops in Tlell which showcase Haida creative talent. We check into our waterfront hotel in Masset later this afternoon.

Day 8 – Thursday September 9, 2021 Masset
After breakfast, we travel to Old Massett where we are joined by a local guide who will share the history, culture and sites throughout. Stroll along popular beaches like Agate Beach and North Beach and visit the incredible sites of Naikoon Provincial Park and Tow Hill. This evening join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a memorable farewell dinner.

Day 9 –Friday September 10, 2021 Masset to Vancouver
Late this morning we board our Pacific Coastal Airlines flight back to Vancouver. Arrive home this afternoon where a transfer will be waiting to take you home with lifelong memories of the mystical islands of Haida Gwaii and the spectacular Inside Passage.

Early Booking: A $250 discount is offered off the first 10 seats booked and $100 off the next 10 until May 31
Deposit and Payment: A $400 deposit per person is required at booking or booking may be cancelled. Full payment is required by June 28, 2021.
Airfare: Airfare has been included at our preferred group rate. For airfare, space should be reserved by May 31. After that date tour price with air may be significantly higher. Should you wish to book your own flights, price will be reduced by $595.
Price Changes: In the event of significant changes in taxes or surcharges by suppliers or local government Mile Zero Tours reserves the right to increase price up until the time of final payment.
Cancellation policy: Full refund less $50 per person admin fee if cancelled before May 31, 2021, from May 31 -June 28, 2021 non-refundable amount increases to $150. After June 28, 2021 only 40% is refundable and after July 30, 2021 only 15% is refundable. There are no refunds offered after August 19, 2021. We strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance as Mile Zero Tours can not issue refunds, no matter the reason, beyond the scope of the above-mentioned policy.
