October 2020 –
At Mile Zero Tours we are extremely excited to once again be able to be back on the road. However, we are committed to ensuring all our operations are done safely and in full compliance with health authority recommendations. We all need to play our part to ensure we can enjoy the wonderful experiences our beautiful province offers without providing any help in the spread of Covid-19. As such touring may look a little different in this time.
Pre-Tour- All guests on tour will be asked health related questions prior to commencing their tour. Anyone who has Covid-19 symptoms, has been advised of a possible exposure, been outside Canada in the last 14 days or is unwilling to follow safety guidelines will not be allowed to travel.
Any guests that have symptoms or have been advised of a possible exposure may be able to apply for an exemption to the normal cancellation policy.
Home Pick Ups – Home pick ups will be one vehicle per household or the vehicle used will be large enough to allow for 6 feet of separation between members of different households. Drivers will wear face-coverings and guests are encouraged to as well.
On the Coach - Guests will be required to wear face-coverings while boarding and disembarking the coach at all time. Hand-sanitizer will be provided and is to be used each time a guest boards the coach. Seating will be assigned on the coach and all guests are required to sit where instructed. Seating arrangements will allow for adequate physical distancing on the coach.
Restaurants - Large group meals are not possible at this time. As such on tour dining will be a little different. Included meals may be staggered or may include some guests going to one restaurant and others going to another. Tables are limited to no more than 4 guests and tables will be assigned. No more than two parties will be seated at one table. To ensure minimal contacts guests will dine with the same people at all included meals. Visiting between tables is not permitted and restaurants may require face-coverings when not seated.
For non-included meals, stops will be made in areas with a variety of restaurants available. Guests should only dine with their own party or another party that they will also dine with during included meals where physical distance can not be maintained.
Attractions and Activities- Guests are expected to wear face-coverings whenever boarding or disembarking the coach, at any location where suppliers or local business require them and at anytime on tour where a minimum of 6 feet physical separation can not be maintained. All participants will be expected to follow guidelines laid out by suppliers/local businesses. Face-coverings are not needed in outdoor locations where 6 feet separation can easily be maintained.
Social Interaction – Please maintain 6 feet of separation from everyone who is not a member of your party wherever possible. Where physical distancing is not possible or difficult face-coverings are to be used. Please avoid any unnecessary physical contact such as handshakes, high fives, hugs etc. As face-coverings can obviously not be used during meals, limit your dining partners to members of your own party and no more than one other consistent party.
Hygiene – Hand sanitizer will be provided and should be used frequently including each time a guest boards the coach. Please also wash your hands with soap and water at all opportunities. Guests are expected to cover their mouth if they need to sneeze or caught.
Cleaning Procedure – Hotels, restaurants and other suppliers have enhanced cleaning procedures. The coach will be cleaned while on tour and high touch surface areas will be disinfected frequently throughout the day.
Self Health monitoring – Guests will be expected to monitor their own health while on tour. Should a guest develop any of the following symptoms they will need to isolate themselves and notify the Tour Director as soon as possible.
Symptoms include: chilis, chronic cough, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting.
If suffering from one of these symptoms’ guests need to notify their Tour Director and avoid all contact with others. After 24 hours if the symptoms have ceased the guest may rejoin the tour.
If suffering with a fever or more than one of any of the above symptoms the guest needs to notify their Tour Director, avoid all contact with others and seek a health assessment. If Covid-19 is ruled out as a result of the health assessment the guest may rejoin the tour once the symptoms have improved.
If a Covid-19 test is recommended the guest must follow all instructions from health authorities. The guest may only rejoin the group once cleared to do so by medical personnel. In this circumstance, it is likely the tour will have ended prior to the guest being cleared to return. Mile Zero Tours Tour Director can provide assistance in procuring a health assessment and necessities for isolating but the Tour Director is not permitted to have any direct contact with a guest that is isolating. Mile Zero Tours office will provide ongoing assistance as necessary for a guest if they need to leave the tour. This assistance could include accessing medical services, securing accommodations, and arranging transport when cleared to do so. However, Mile Zero Tours will not be responsible for any costs incurred.
